ASSIGNMENTS
Tim Burton Essay The task I had to do was use 2 cinematic techniques and demonstrate how it was used throughout the Tim Burton film, "Edward Scissor hands" by creating an essay showing examples of whatever cinematic technique you have chosen. The concept of doing this is to be more observant about films and how the director portrays the shots regenerating a mood they want to set. The first step, my job was to find 2 examples each for my cinematic technique and how these cinematic elements convey my thesis. Next, I was to use the information and transfer it to my outline in order to correspond with descriptions I'm showing in my rough draft. After that, my assignment was to provide evidence and proof that my cinematic techniques were being used in the film. The challenges I encountered and faced was being attentive towards the scenes in the movie and describe how the elements affect the feeling. Some strengths I've shown was providing information and proof to back up my thesis towards the subject. This work contributed to my personal growth by accommodating myself to become observant of my surroundings. College Interview Project The task i was given was to interview a person who graduated college and has a post-secondary education. I was given questions to ask the interviewee to get information on my essay. I'm learning if college and having an education is significant for my life or not. The first step i had to take was to find a college graduate to interview, ask open-ended questions, and write an essay about the person's experience. Challenges I've encountered was asking the right questions to get an abundant amount of information for my paper. There were some challenges I faced, but some strengths was listening and being attentive towards the interviewee. This work made me a better person and improved myself by asking myself if I'd work hard enough to graduate college and know people want me to do my best so why not put the effort to do so. I still need to improve on asking questions towards others to comprehend the subject matter. Lastly, the knowledge and skills i acquired would apply to life outside school because it would teach me to think cautiously and work independently. Crystal Methamphetamine My task was to research a tobacco drug with my group and examine about "crystal methamphetamine." The concept that I was supposed to learn is the effects of this drug and how it's unhealthy. First off, the step I took was finding a group of 3 to work and cooperate with while finding what tobacco drug they were intrigued in learning about. Next, my group found and researched 3 articles and drew examples and images of crystal methamphetamine. Afterwards, my group which consists of Ariana, Liliana, and I worked together to write a 2 page summary about the topic. Some challenges I encountered was researching accurate information about crystal methamphetamine and interpreting it into an easier way for others and ourselves to discern. The strengths I demonstrated was showing leadership in the group to get the work completed and organized. The work contributed or improved myself by learning the dangers of tobacco use and being cautious of these drugs. I would still need to improve on cooperating with my group and expressing more ideas with each other to get a better understanding and for others to have a say in what they would want to do. Most importantly. the knowledge and skills I acquired applies to life outside my future because this project informs me how I'd be later on in life if I were to excel in drug usage. |
